First time when Shakespeare introduces him, Romeo starts with greetings to his cousin. Talking about recent experiences with his cousin, Romeo starts at asking about where does father go then exclaiming over about his love to Rosaline. Such as " Why then, O brawling love! O loving hate! O any thing, of nothing first create! O heavy lightness .”This character gives a feeling of a person who loafing around. One of the reason is that he is asking where is his dad, then he starts expressing his emotions to Rosaline. However, his conversation makes me feel that he is a positive person who has courage to face his love.  The first impression of me to him was strange, in my virtual imagination to this character, then I found that Romeo was not a person who had not honorable experiences. In my opinion, he lived in a relatively free life even though he is belonged to a big family. Moreover, I think Romeo is a passive person, between he and his cousin, it seems he is always listening and fol...

Notes On Shakespeare

Understanding the format of Shakespeare's article is helpful for reading his book. His staging in prologue helps chorus reciting the play. In the prologue of R & J, Shakespeare used one of his form which is sonnet form, which has fourteen lines, a rhyme scheme can be broken down to three quatrains. Shakespeare likes to leave few words for readers to think or guess, it leads the story seems not logic but dramatic. Before ending, Shakespeare likes to have foreshadowing to infer the ends between the true ending. Men and boys were playing all characters. Time was the Renaissance of England. In the beginning of his career, he shared lease with partners of his company. Theaters play all year round whatever any weathers. Indoor theaters always cost too much and have few people. Actors had to have a lot of staging skills such as fighting or singing or play instruments. In 1642, the theaters of England was closed down, when they returned back, female performers going on...

Reflect on in class activities R & J f

The same thing between three groups are highlighting R & J's ideas of betraying everything except for the love, so every group has performed endings. That's the most impressive thing in R & J. The differences are the using of their times. Each group limits their times differently, in this case, one group tried to avoid dialogue, one group tried to highlight one scene while one group liked to talk the whole story. Some groups liked to use the items on the stage, such as cups or beds.

Notes on R & J 9.24

To the first part of the scene, two servants from the Capulet had a conversation about against the Montague. Then it moves to the fighting before the Capulets and Montagues. Main characters of both families have gradually appeared. However this is ended by the prince of this place. Romeo met his close friend, Benvolio. Benvolio knew Romeo loved somebody but she hasn't loved Romeo yet. Scene 2 began with the conversation between Capulet and Paris who is the suitor for Juliet. The advice of Capulet to Paris is slowing down paces to approach Juliet, it is necessary to need time to get to learn each other. Next, Paris decides to invite a list of people as an occasion to know Juliet. A servant who cannot read is sent to do that while Romeo and Benvolio are helping to read the list and find the Romeo's love will attend to there. Benvolio suggests Romeo to attend there also. Scene 3 began with the meeting between Lady Capulet and nurse, after they are talking about Juliet, Julie...

Devising Experience

Our group came up four different topics. Afterward, we decided to choose the topic of a teen has a mental block. Four different topics were coming up by all of us. Firstly, I was suggesting to have the first topic that was a person who has two different personalities while he is playing on the phone and living in the reality. Eventually, I approved the idea of Cassidy that we should use the topic of mental block person. The reason of that was that character could reveal the theme - Fences - the best. On the part of devising, we tried to make the environment like a real clinic. I helped to grab chairs and managed the sequence of the chairs. The sequence of chairs should be like the doctor faces to the teen, the block of the teen sits back to back. Scripts went really well so far, we decided to topic firstly we discussed it, then we focused more about the teen has a mental block. The framework of the story went in the beginning like a normal mee...

Devising Notes

1. Devised Theater The game often becomes the start of the play.  A group of a more choreographic nature would be more likely to start with improvisation using space and/or  contact improvisation . A director helps members' inspiration a lot. Two people who were  Jerzy Grotowski  and  Peter Brook brings the new idea of actors in creating a different style of performance. 2. What is devised theater? Devised theater always collaborates everyone's efforts together, everyone has belonged to the process. Devised theater supports many opportunities to the people who likes to perform everything freely. Moreover, it brings more chance to have interaction between actors and audience. 3.Complicite A devising company based in London, it started in 1983. Complicite collaborated with various of people such as designer, musician, or writers. Recently, they have begun a new program which feated with artists in middle career, they became to have a custom design for th...

Monologue Discuss 9/13

图片
One of my monologue was talking about my childhood experience, when I created a framework of that monologue in my mind, I tried to take my myself to my virtual world in order to bring the true memory back. I imagined what was my classroom looked like, what was the scene that everyone in the classroom when the school was over. Finally, I found my characteristics of young ages back. I was scared most of my teachers, most of the times, I tried to avoid to have communication or talking with them. Then I created my character as a person who likes to avoid and escape from risks or unknown difficulties. In my memory, my elementary school teachers were scary and loudly, they liked to shout everything out when they found you did something which was not fitted with their expectation. Another monologue about the novel "Fences", the main character of this novel, troy was a big man. Troy is a kind of person who likes to take over all of the authority and cherish the efforts he put before....

Monologue on Fences pg.38

The character that I am going to play on pg.38 is Troy. I picked this scene not only because it gave me a strong impression while I was reading it, but also revealed that the status in families between Thor and his son. This scene totally talks about what's the way and reason that he wants to control this house, control his family members.  Troy doesn't want to use love to define why he is taking care of this family, he wants to emphasize everyone is able to live here since he is the owner of this house. In my monologue, I think I should play a "giant" character, not only because Troy is a tall guy, but also his status at that time in the home is huge. It is necessary to look down to the floor and have a severe tone when I speak. I remembered that when Troy has a disagreement with something, he always shakes his head. Overall, these details are valued to concern when I am playing.

Monologue 9/1

It was a Tuesday afternoon when I was in Elementary school. I had to go to my table tennis class in 20minutes. Unfortunately, I didn't finish up my homework corrections that was due to the end of the school. I looked nervous but I was still hold my back up solution which is that class is far away from my school, I should go riding my bike. The classroom was crowded many students, but I sneaked behind the other students, and then went outside by the door in the back. My teacher noticed I was almost escaped from the classroom. She yelled to me " You haven't done yet!" I ignored her and gradually boosted up my speed to the parking lot and grabbed my bicycle. Using all of my strengths to shout to my teacher on second floor of teaching building, " I want to go my table tennis class!"
