Success is counted sweetest:
This poem is positive, excited, and indignant. It tells both sides of getting success. It appreciates success and its process whether how does it describe the pain.
She is on both views of winner and loser to the definition of success but she converts both ideas to one direction which is that successes are sweet after everyone suffers from them.
Success is counted sweetest
By those who ne'er succeed.
To comprehend a nectar
Requires sorest need.
Not one of all the purple Host
Who took the Flag today
Can tell the definition
So clear of victory
As he defeated – dying –
On whose forbidden ear
The distant strains of triumph
Burst agonized and clear!
I'm Nobody! Who are you?:
I felt how she was annoyed by the agitated outside world. She loved to be alone and to avoid voices from outside. She didn't like to exposure herself. "Don't tell! They would advertise", "How dreary to be somebody." showing that she became to be bored and restless to being somebody whose identity is accepted by everyone.
I'm Nobody! Who are you?
Are you – Nobody – too?
Then there's a pair of us!
Don't tell! they'd advertise – you know!
How dreary – to be – Somebody!
How public – like a Frog –
To tell one's name – the livelong June –
To an admiring Bog!
“Hope” is the thing with feathers:
I like how did she use "feathers" to describe hope. I believe hope is always out of people's expectation, at the same time, and it gives people feathers to chase their dreams. When it comes to feathers, it becomes wings. Wings protect people as a shield, yet it also encourages people to take risks.
“Hope” is the thing with feathers -
That perches in the soul -
And sings the tune without the words -
And never stops - at all -
And sweetest - in the Gale - is heard -
And sore must be the storm -
That could abash the little Bird
That kept so many warm -
I’ve heard it in the chillest land -
And on the strangest Sea -
Yet - never - in Extremity,
It asked a crumb - of me.

Sometimes the truth is out of everyone's expectation, while sometimes the truth indeed gives us happiness and we should have a correct attitude to the truth. "The truth must dazzle gradually" tells use to be careful and be respectful when we face the truth, or every man is blind.

As Lightning to the Children eased
