The female narrator
Mother
In Brooklyn, my mother is not involved in the local environment and society. She is not like most of the women who are interested in shopping and she doesn't like people to judge her appearance. The narrator is following her mother. Her mom compares the discipline of drivers between Brooklyn and Haiti and compares the other facts with Haiti. The Narrator found that a day woman who works during the daytime leaves her baby to her mom for a while. Her mom tries to please the child by buying a can of soda, but they don't have too much communication.
