Reflect on my project and peers
My group:
The only interesting part of my group was the changing of the positions by the changing of the turn. The person who was performing standing in front of the others and three of us stood like a triangle. On the contrast, we didn't have many body movements. It was interesting that we listed many ideas on the day before Tuesday, but we only chose one idea from the list. When I read it, I didn't have too much time to think about the scene that the author wants to depict. Even though our comprehension of the poem may be different from the author's perspective, each of us adds his own ideas to the lines he chose with movements or the changing of tone.
Josh's group:
It has four members to help them to build a grand scene on the stage. They separated four-person equally through the stage. The background music is the sound of nature which means they wanted to set the theme of this performance as nature. It is really impressive to me that two of them were reading and the other two of them were acting the lines they read. They have more acting parts than us.
Aaron's group:
I believe the theme that his group wanted to transfer is life because life is based on actions. Three of them are walking around the stage, and the person who is on his turn to read will stay in the middle of the stage. Since they hardly stop their paces, their voices are gradually louder. The sound of paces is always adding the rhythms to the performance. It is another group with a lot of actions.
Jasmine's group:
They had the similar pattern with the first group but they changed their roles during the changing of the reader. A reader accompanied by two dancers, and it is obvious that they have planned the certain actions with certain lines. The feeling that this performance gave me was really an acting program but not reading the poem.
Nan's group:
They chose Hip-Hop trap Beats because they adapted the lines into a Hip-Hop song. However, they made it really great and I realized they had hooks between each verse. They liked to perform the poem totally by the music so they didn't have too many movements. Since the hook is really loud and catchy, the other two verses are losing sights of the audience since they are not loud.
Grace's group:
One thing is absolutely true that this group has the slowest rhythm with a slow tempo music and slow transitions between everyone. Three of them have different tones so I could feel the layers when they read. Slow music with slow reading speed causes them to become the most comfortable group. It is unique and I could never feel from the normal reading in somewhere.
