In my scene, I want to give an overview to the Tom of the whole story because there is a lot of information given in my scene. It reveals Tom’s ultimate goal and activities in common. It is definitely one of the climaxes of Tom.
When we prepared this scene with my partner, I thought a lot of moods or tones when I read Tom’s lines. Tom is a man-show character, even though he looks like a person who doesn't like to talk and like to stay alone, but this scene reflects him as a person who has a lot of moods and ideas but has been saved by him so long. Then I want to interpret his tone to have a sudden change.
When I looked around the black box, I did see a real terrace but too big and unmovable. Then I saw a bridge used by The les miserable. I designed the main stage to be the bedroom of TOM.
In my opinion, the atmosphere of this scene builds the whole thing up. Jim is the engine of this scene, but Tom is the driver, he is responded to the rhythm. I want to discuss and talk about why the engine stimulates the driver and how does the driver push the story to the climax with a monologue there.
