Feedback On First Draft

Before the first draft, I and Yun were practicing on reading lines for a long time. I always think about the appearance of Tom in this scene because Tom has always appeared as a monotonous man, and I have concerned a lot of the converting of Tom's mood to his tone and expressions. Tom has been a passive man before the scene 7 act 2. Unfortunately, We found that half of the scene is Amanda and Laura's conversation. To complete the time limit, we have discussed very much on adding a character. Our group is the last run of the class, I found that pauses and voices became the important sections that I need to improve. After the first draft ended, I found that many students reminded me to speak louder. I realized that my voice was enough loud to the other performers on the stage except for audience. Moreover, I recognize that many students advised me to put more body movements or gestures. Indeed, I need to prepare more actions on the stage rather than standing there and reading lines. A note reminds me do not turn myself back to the audience when I was acting on the stage, I wanted to show the dad's photo. I found that is unnecessary when I am playing, and it was a mistake of not facing to the audience. To be a helper, Jacob was assigned too many lines by us. I feel Jacob was almost going to dominate the whole stage in the last part. I and Yun decided to replace Amanda by Laura, then it cut off the status of a helper and leave to us much time on expanding the acting of movements and interactions. After we had the presentations on famous directors, I have decided to follow the figures' instructions to enhance my acting skills. I have practiced with Yun so many times. In each time including the first draft, I have tried to follow and fit Yun and Jacob's rhythm while playing.  I didn't satisfy my self and realize there are too many problems to work on, but I will absorb the feedback from everyone and make progress.
