Notes on Act 3

Characters: Tybalt, Mercutio, Benvolio, Romeo, Montague, Lady Capulet, Prince Escalus

In the street, the day is hot, Romeo feels exhausted. Tybalt is looking for Rome when he finds him, they have an intense conversation and get ready to fight. Moreover, Romeo escapes the fight but his friend Mercutio angers Tybalt. Tybalt wounds Mercutio then leaves, however, Mercutio is angry with the conflicts between both families and die. Despite Tybalt appears again to find them back, Romeo kills Tybalt then run away because the appear of Prince Escalus. This scene reflects the battle between two families is still rising, the death of Mercutio is showing that everyone doesn't want to be the victims for it. The leave of Romeo foreshadows the tragedy.

Scene 2 is started from the monologue of Juliet. Juliet was so rushed to wait for the coming of Romeo. When she is still waiting for Romeo and Nurse, Nurse brings the bad news for her - Tybalt's death by Romeo. Nurse is approved to find Romeo. The monologue shows the edginess attitude of Juliet while Juliet command Nurse finds Romeo, her attitude toward this event is foreshadowing.

Scene 3 is about the meeting of Romeo and Friar Lawrence. When the time Romeo falls in the abyss and has no directions to go, he will probably go find the one who knows him well. Godfather is disappointed for the behavior of Romeo, after telling his conditions now, Nurse comes to find Romeo. Friar Lawrence let Romeo better go find Juliet now. In this scene, it is obvious that Friar Lawrence always puts Romeo in the first place, anything happened on Romeo is cared by him. From Godfather's perspective, Romeo is more important than anything includes peace of this place.

Final Blog Post

I clearly remembered how was the first day of this class. We warmed up to be familiar with acting. To a person who had not experienced any performance ever, performance undoubtedly became the part I spent time to think the most. Two years course is a long run, but it impresses me more than the other classes I have taken in Cheshire Academy. Before I took this class, I thought acting is easy like until we tried to improvise various moves and gestures in front of people. I felt shy and embarrassed at the beginning, throughout two years' performance, and I became more and more confident to act in front of people and cameras. The class is called literature and performance so the other essential aspect is its literature. I still remembered the first book we read and the first performance, which is the monologue we played in the black box.  Fences talk about poverty and situations of African Americans. A Final Goodbye ©  Betty Janko Do not weep for me for I will soon be gone, My body may die, but my soul will live on.
