Selecting the casts, all of us came up the similar characters from the story: Romeo, Juliet, Tybalt, Mercutio, Friar Lawrence, Nurse, Benvolio, Paris, Prince, Capulets. Two reasons follow that on the one hand, those characters have a big apportions of the story, on the other hand, those characters are having a relatively highlighted personalities. Both reasons cause people like to recall them after reading the story. However, some characters are disputed by most groups are Capulets. To be the parents of Juliet, we are always thinking about what are the representatives of their characteristics. At this point, different groups have the different opinions. Lady capulet in group 1 wears a necklace, in group 2 has a play dough, in group 3 wears a trenchcoat. I am interested about the idea of group 2 that she has a play dough. Play dough is a shapable clay, I think the meaning of play dough is revealing Lady Capulet becomes different people while facing with Juliet and Lord Capulet. When Juliet is talking to her mom, mom is leading the conversation while she is not leading the direction of dialogue with Lord Capulet. She enforces Juliet to marry with Paris at first, but she protects Juliet under the enforced inactivity of Lord Capulet. However, I agree with the view of group 3 that she should wear a trench coat that it is expressing the atmosphere of being the wife of Capulet. Paris is the true villain in the story, the existing of him is not only expressing that he is the person who comes to fight with Romeo at the end, but also tells the audience that he is rich because Capulet wants Juliet to be married with him. As a character who is rich and being a enemy, the impression of readers is always bad. I got three ideas here, Golden goblet at wine, credit card,  and big crown. I totally agree with the golden goblet at the wine as the item of him. Firstly, Paris is also born in a upper class, moreover, Paris gives me a feeling of he is a elegant man. Even though Benvolio is Romeo's cousin, he has still had few parts of the story, in readers' perspectives, he even not join in any fights. To be a representative of peace, he should has a white dove as the symbol of peace. Nurse's status is pretty same with Mercutio, a protagonist's friend. She is an important one in the story that she is always delivering new information to Juliet who has no opportunities to leave the house. Her objects is towel that she is always helping Juliet to erase up the negativity and giving the cure to her mental. The object of Friar Lawrence is herb or plant. In the story, Friar Lawrence gives Juliet his poison for their plan, originally, Friar Lawrence is a peace maker. In my opinion, plants is the symbol of him that plants can be the raw material of poison, Friar Lawrence is effected by the current situation so that he makes the poison. To be the best friend of Romeo, Mercutio contributes a lot to the dream of Romeo whether it is true or not. Dagger is the symbol of him that dagger is always hidden in the shade, Mercutio is the solid one always standing behind Romeo. When Tybalt steps up one place, there will be a fight. Tybalt is the symbol of violence, he is the representatives of Capulet as same as Romeo, sword is his symbol. The leading characters in the story are Romeo and Juliet. Romeo's item is the sword, to be the Montague's member, he is the one always connecting with Capulet, he is the sword under the light, each behavior of him is not prevented. Juliet is holding a Kaleidoscope that he has not met with this world too much because she has been locked in the mansion for a long time. The coming of Romeo gives her a kaleidoscope to know more about the outside world. In this list, we have not mentioned Rosalind, Rosalind is the person that is loved by Romeo is the beginning of the story, but she has no lines in the play and Romeo has not mentioned her after meeting with Juliet.

In the play, I think Romeo is always using his sword because he is never yielding under any pressure, his sword is not representing the death, is always advocating I will take down the Juliet. Romeo should takes his sword out of sheath and yelling out loud what he is thinking. When Paris wants to negotiate with somebody, he is always rising up his golden goblet. It symbolizes that he want to make a deal with you, but golden goblet reveals his pomp. The golden goblet not only hasn't shown his nobility but also has shown his negative flamboyant.

Choosing the Romeo and Juliet, I will choose David Chau and Grace to be them. To choose the Friar Lawrence, I will choose Aaron to be him. David is a outgoing man, his behaviors and representatives in the stage are showing the audience passions. He is not saving any conservation, I believe that he can handle with Romeo because it is needed for him to act the scene while Romeo and Juliet first meet in Mansion. Grace speaks quiet and acts elegant both in the classroom or on the stage, Juliet has not been baptized by the outside world. It is needed to be elegant and also she is not grim or cruel. Aaron acts well on the details of People's facial expressions and many details on body movements, Friar Lawrence is being man that has though a lot with the life around him, it is need a person who analyzes a lot with the detail in acting.
